Don Juan De Hus
OTTB & what it means.
(not to say that warmbloods aren’t amazing! just a cute little saying i saw!)
Nothing makes me happier than seeing my baby’s face light up when he sees me. Mom walked Don out for me yesterday after our ride while I put away the jump and loaded up the truck and she took a moment and had him stay in the alley way and as I turned after putting the standard down, there he was, eyes bright and ears forward, a total happy baby face. I’m so happy to see him mature and really come into himself and connect with me.
That is perhaps the best part of owning and OTTB, that moment when they become connected to their new owner and finally have some stability in the people handling them. As racehorses they have so many different people from grooms to trainers exercise riders and jockeys… When they finally settle into a second home they can have issues believing that you’re really the only person to handle them. But then one day they just grow to love you as their person and have full trust in you. Every horse and situation is different. But I still love that moment when you finally see that change.
pretty horses and pretty men x.x

Still cry whenever I think about it, and it’s been 2 years.
